Who is this man?
This is what his facebook FanPage says about him:
Ibrahim Lutfy is an ex-political prisoner of the Maldive Islands and former Amnesty International prisoner of conscience. Over a period of 17 years, he had been arrested 10 times and spend over 3 years in different jails. He was briefly jailed on November 4th, 1988 — a day after the deadliest coup attempt on the government. Although he was accused of carrying weapons to overthrow a "democratically elected" govt, he was never charged. He spend time in jail along with the mercenaries and was tortured. He had never received military training and was never involved in any military struggle.
His journey to free himself and the country from the tyranny began from jail. Over the next 20 years he would write numerous pieces as an underground writer-cum-campaigner and later by his own name. On the maturity of internet in the country, he helped established an organized underground online political news magazine.
Lutfy, and his colleagues were traced, arrested, tortured and imprisoned for life. They were accused of "defamation" and "attempting to overthrow a democratically elected government". During Lutfy's life prison term, he was brutally tortured. He was ill and taken for medical treatment abroad where he managed to escape and obtained International protection through UNHCR. Since then he has been resettled in Switzerland.
Later on he was pardoned by President Nasheed. He said the reason he left Maldives was because his life was in danger and when he got freedom in April 2010 (after seven years) he said that that he would "return soon". But he still remains in Switzerland with his family.
Now why am i writing about this guy, he seems to be a fine gentleman who suffered a lot. I have all my respect for what he did for our mother land. But he is a Hypocrite! Here is why. These are some of his interactions on twitter recently:

well, i can understand the second one. he has the right to express his views on this "religious" matter. but the first? that is outright denying people freedom of expression,calling for a military coup, and encouraging religious persecution and violence against people with different beliefs. All this WHILE seeking asylum in "Infidel" and "evil" and "kafir" enemy land of Switzerland.

We have set up an office in London to collect information about the names, numbers, and conditions of what we have decided to call "Prisoners of Conscience;" and we define them thus: "Any person who is physically restrained (by imprisonment or otherwise) from expressing (in any form of words or symbols) any opinion which he honestly holds and which does not advocate or condone personal violence." We also exclude those people who have conspired with a foreign government to overthrow their own. – Peter Benenson, Appeal for Amnesty, 1961
A "prisoner of conscience" is someone imprisoned solely for the peaceful expression of their beliefs. there is a difference between that political prisoners.
So it seems Mr. Lutfy does not recognize the golden rule, and he would want to express himself freely and live in a free land practicing his religion freely; BUT he don't want his countrymen to have these same freedom. He have no problem STILL living in Kafir Switzerland while judging and bullying those seeking freedom of conscience and expression in Maldives. All in the name of Islam, a peaceful and tolerant religion hijacked by ignorant bullies.
